(Welcome IBR folks!)
Hey boys, welcome to San Francisco; I hope you have a great time, it's a lovely place. I guess you're here because you found one of the several hundred business cards I posted all over SoMa.
Say "Hey!" if you see me around this weekend in my bears.net cap or bears.net t-shirt. I'll be the short fat hairy one with the beard.
Most importantly, please fill out the survey and tell me what you'd like bears.net to become.
I'm still on track to eventually make something of bears.net, I just need to find the time and if any of you are interested in helping to shape the website, please drop me a line.
Finally, make sure to get some rest, drink plenty of fluids and pace yourself this weekend, laters.

Update #3
(Life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans)
Sorry it's been a while guys, if anyone is actually reading this? It's now almost 2010, I haven't made much progress with regards to bear411. It has been a crazy month! I'm about to close on a new condo here in SF and I was diagnosed with cataracts, so other things have been keeping me busy
But my ad did run in A Bears Life (thanks Steve!) and I'm still getting survey submissions. So far it seems you overwhelming want a dating site. I assumed there was no need for another bear website, but apparently there are short comings among the sites that currently exist. Tell me what they are.
Anyways, Happy New Year fellas! Hope to talk to you soon.

Update #2
Holy crap, a whole month has gone by. Anyway you should see our ads in A Bears Life magazine soon.
I've made a few minor tweaks to the site, created twitter and facebook links and been talking to a friend that does adult website hosting and development.
The voting for what the website should be is still going on, but so far over 90% of you want another bear dating/hookup website. I thought that market was saturated for that, but I guess you guys want an alternative to what's out there. A little over 50% want a bear forum / chat site so I'm going to try to combine those two elements together, into something useful, something web 2.0-ish.
To that end, I'll be posting the mock-ups for the website once the voting is done. At that time you can tell me if you like the site design and/or what you'd want to change.
I'm actually excited by all this! Please write, twitter, tag us, whatever.
Let's create a bear website that you won't be embarrassed by and where you can meet new friends, get laid, kill time chatting with strangers and rant about anything.

Here goes (Update #1)
This website has been a long time coming. I came out into the "Bear Community" back in the early 90s and I've been wanting to give something back to you guys for a while.
And this is how it starts, aren't you excited?
It's pretty ugly though, isn't it? Hell it's looked worse. You can visit archive.org and see some even UGLIER old versions of BEARS.NET
But, I'm hoping we have some fun.
And as my mom used to say when she would tuck me into bed,
"This is it, This is life, the one you get, so go and have a ball!
So, while you're here, enjoy the view; keep on doing what you do.
Hold on tight; we'll muddle through, One day at a time,
...Somewhere there's music playing."

Well, there is no, "us" just me. I'll probably need some help at some point to get this thing off the ground and at that point I'll be reaching out into the community for web and graphic design assistance.
